These Fourth of July Fruit Skewers don’t really require a recipe but I thought I’d share the idea in case you need a last minute Fourth of July recipe.  These fruit skewers are great by themselves, as a snack, as a healthy dessert, or put them in your favorite cocktails or drinks for a fun Fourth of July decoration!

Happy Fourth of July!  You can never have enough red, white, and blue recipes right???  Like I said, no recipe really needed for these fruit skewers.  I took a star cookie cutter and cut out some seedless watermelon then put the star shaped watermelon on wooden skewers along with some blueberries.  If you’re wondering about the cocktail, it’s just a little blue curacao with some lemon-lime soda (or you could use ginger ale).  Easy right?

  1. Isn’t blue curacao alcohol? Is that something that is safe for a 4 year old?

    1. I guess just the skewers part was for kids, and not the drink? I hope.

      1. Yes, the skewers are kid friendly, the cocktail is not. For something kid-friendly, you could add a little blue JELLO or food coloring to soda, fruit juice, or water.

  2. these are SO cute! I bet my daughter would love to make these for her friends

  3. My 4 year old would love to eat these (minus the alcohol-we’ll add that to Mom and Dad’s) on the 4th! They look pretty easy to make so maybe I’ll let him fill his own skewer.
