Better Than Sex Caketini

by Lisa Huff on December 12, 2011

Snappy Gourmet is turning ONE this week!!  Can you believe it?  I can’t!  This last year has been a lot of fun and I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you, receiving your kind messages, and of course creating recipes that I hope you have enjoyed!  I feel like I’m JUST getting started and have so many more recipes I want to try and share with you all!   Thank you for passing along my site and recipes to your friends and family!  The site has grown more than I ever thought it would and I’m excited to see what this next year will bring!  I have lots of holiday and Christmas cookies coming up soon but before I start those, I thought I’d celebrate one year with a new -tini recipe!  I thought about some kind of birthday caketini but ran across Paula Deen’s recipe for Is it Really Better Than Sex Cake  and thought it would be perfect to turn into a cocktail. So here is a fun recipe for a Better Than Sex Caketini!

Later this week, I have my FAVORITE chocolate chip cookie recipe.  I debated about sharing it, but decided to not only share it, I’m going to show you over the next few weeks how you can use that one dough and turn it into multiple different kinds of cookies perfect for the holidays! If you’re not signed up to get my posts by EMAIL, now would be a good time so you don’t miss out.

There are a lot of variations of a Better Than Sex Cake, but the reviews for Paula Deen’s recipe for Is it Really Better Than Sex Cake   are incredible and it seems to be one of the most popular!  The cake contains pineapple, coconut, French vanilla pudding, and whipped cream.  Sounded like a great inspiration for a cocktail, don’t you think?  And a great way to celebrate one year of my blog!  Does the cake or drink live up to its name???? Well, I’ll let you be the judge! :)

The ingredients in this drink are fairly simple.  I ran across this So Delicious Coconut Milk Creamer and thought I’d give it a try in this drink.  It worked out really well!  If you can’t find it, you can try substituting your favorite coconut milk.

I also added some toasted coconut to the top of the drink but you could also line your glass rim with toasted coconut.

Hope you enjoy!  Cheers!  Here’s to another year of Snappy Gourmet!  Thanks for a great year!

I usually like to cover up the taste of the alcohol with the other ingredients, so can you taste the alcohol in this?

I didn’t think the drink was strong, however, if you’re unsure, just start with half the vodka. You can always add more if you think it’s ok.
