Banana Puddintini Cocktail an easy homemade dessert drink recipe inspired by banana pudding. If you follow me on Facebook, you may remember that I mentioned last week that I had a great idea for a new “-tini” while doing the laundry.  Not sure how and why some of these crazy recipe ideas come into my head!  And not sure how and why I got into this strange cocktail and -tini kick lately!  I must have been thinking about my trip to the south to Atlanta this past weekend (more on that soon!).  I had a banana pudding mix in the cupboard and some Pinnacle Whipped Vodka and Banana Vodka and the Banana Puddintini was born!

Be sure to check out my Recipe Index for more cocktail and -tini recipes. I have a few more ideas coming up in the future!  These Banana Puddintinis are easy to make just like my other -tinis!

Although most Southerners would make their banana pudding from scratch, that’s not so easy to turn into a cocktail so I used an instant pudding mix.  You just need a few other ingredients that are fairly easy to find.  If you can get your hand on these mini Nabisco Mini Nilla Wafers they are perfect to line the rim of the glass with as well as top the drink off with.

You can first rim the glasses with caramel or butterscotch then crushed wafers.

Mix the cream/milk, vodkas, and pudding in a shaker with ice.  I used skim milk for a “lighter” version, but you could use any kind of milk or cream you have on hand.  The pudding will turn the drink a pale yellow (hard to see in the picture), but if it’s not “yellow” enough for you, you could mix in a few drops of yellow food coloring.  I added about 1-2 drops but you probalby don’t need it.

I just wanted to make sure it looked yellow in the pictures!  You can also top the drinks with whipped cream and a mini wafer if you want.  Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup milk or cream
  • 2 tablespoons Pinnacle Whipped Vodka
  • 2 tablespoons Pinnacle Banana Vodka
  • 1 teaspoon JELL-O banana cream instant pudding mix
  • Caramel or butterscotch ice cream topping
  • Crushed vanilla wafers
  • Whipped cream
  • 1 mini vanilla wafer

Instructions

  • Mix milk/cream, Whipped vodka, Banana vodka, and pudding mix in shaker with ice. Shake for about 30 seconds.
  • Dip rim of glass in caramel/butterscotch, then dip rim into wafer crumbs. Strain drink into glass.
  • Top with whipped cream and a mini wafer if desired.

Notes

SNAPPY TIPS: This recipe makes 1 drink, so multiple if you are serving more people. Add a little yellow food coloring if you want a deeper yellow color.
SNAPPY SUBSTITUTIONS: If you can’t find the mini wafers, you can substitute the regular size.

Thanks for the suggestions. My husband is in the military and we’re stationed in Germany so I frequently struggle locating items. Not sure if the store on our base would take suggestions and start ordering it. My mom is coming to visit soon so I may see what she has room for in her suitcase. Thanks again! Love your recipes!!

Sounds delicious I’ve been wanting to try your others as well but the only Pinnacle vodka in my area is the plain. Can’t get any of the fun flavors. Any suggestions…I may try it with the plain vodka. It won’t be as good I’m sure.

Hi Monica! A few suggestions for you… Not sure where you live and I know alcohol sales/laws vary a lot but I would suggest calling around to different stores in your area to see what they carry. You can also ask if they will order something for you. Some of the smaller stores in my area have offered to order a bottle of anything I want and it will only take them a few days to get it in. Sometimes it’s just a matter of getting a nice person at the store. :) You can also contact Pinnacle or look on their website to see if their distributors in your area can get what you’re looking for. http://www.pinnaclevodka.com/ Hope that helps!

I usually order the banana or vanilla flavoring from Amazon & add it to the liquor I have on hand. This usually works just as well. Happy cocktail time!!!
