I’m so excited to be working with Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls and Bread for this recipe! I have always loved their rolls and bread so it’s a true pleasure to be working with them! If you’re not familiar with Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls and Bread, they started in the 1950’s in the heart of “Pennsylvania Dutch” country. They’re a family owned and operated company and a make a wide variety of delicious bread and rolls.
If you haven’t already, give their bread and rolls a try! Their bread and rolls have a buttery taste and soft texture, which my family LOVES! Their potato bread is great for sandwiches and grilled cheese. Give their Party Potato Rolls a try for fun sliders, and be sure to check out their Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread, which makes fabulous French Toast and desserts.
Now let’s talk about these delicious burgers with Martin’s Sandwich Potato Rolls!
These Oktoberfest inspired burgers are perfect for fall parties or really anytime of the year. They’re not exactly authentic German burgers, but they’re a fun twist on a traditional burgers. These Oktoberfest Burgers would also make great sliders on Martin’s Party Potato Rolls! You know I love sliders.
I used pork, but ground chicken would also be great. To make the burger patties, mix in some crushed salted pretzels, mustard, garlic, and black pepper with the ground pork. I cooked my burgers in a cast iron pan but you could also grill these burgers.
While the burger patties are cooking, cook the sliced onions in a pan with a little beer and mustard. I used a dark German beer but use your favorite beer. Cook the onions until they are soft and the beer is reduced. If you like your onions VERY soft and well done, you may even want to start cooking the onions BEFORE you start cooking the burgers.
Top the burgers with Swiss cheese and onions and serve on Martin’s Sandwich Potato Rolls! Delish! Thumbs up from the whole family, which is not easy to do these days.
Serve with your favorite pretzels, slaw, and beer and you have yourself a great Oktoberfest meal!
