I’m sure I’ll have more cannoli themed recipes in the near future but in the meantime I thought I’d give you a long list of ideas of what to serve with your favorite cannoli dip or cannoli cream recipes.
If you’re just joining us and wondering what’s a cannoli, it’s an Italian pastry that has a pastry tube shell filled with a sweetened ricotta cheese filling and sometimes other ingredients like citrus, chocolate chips, nuts, cinnamon, and/or vanilla.
Everyone has a different opinion on what a cannoli should have for a filling, and I’m sure some purists would be horrified that people make fun twists on the popular dessert like “cannoli dip”.
But since you’re looking at this post, I’m going to assume you have already made cannoli dip or in the process of making it and looking for serving suggestions for your cannoli dip.
What to Serve with Cannoli Dip?
Here are some of my favorite ideas of what to serve with cannoli dip:
- Cannoli Croutons
- Cannoli Chips
- Apple slices
- Fresh strawberries
- Ice cream waffle cones or sugar cones, broken into large pieces
- Vanilla wafers
- Chocolate cookie wafers
- Graham crackers (original or chocolate)
- Cannoli pastry shells, broken into large pieces
- Animal crackers
- Chocolate chip cookies
- Angel food cake or pound cake, cubed
- Won ton wrappers, cut in half and baked or fried and dusted with powdered sugar
- Banana slices
- Pizzelle cookies
- Waffle sticks
- French toast sticks
