Yes, my cookbook, Kid Chef Bakes, came out LAST year, but I just realized I never did a post listing all the recipes I shared from the book. And since it’s the holidays, and this book makes a great gift for ALL ages, I thought I’d share a little more about the book.
The book has been selling really well. Thank you to everyone who has already bought a copy (thank you, thank you!).
If you haven’t gotten a copy yet, you can get a copy on Amazon. It’s also available at many Barnes & Noble stores as well as some other local and online retailers.
Retailers may vary, so Amazon is always a good choice. Of course, you can’t beat 2-day shipping either! Kid Chef Bakes as of today is also the #2 children’s cookbook on Amazon and #117 best seller on Amazon. Woo hoo!
Want to put together a gift for a child who likes to bake?
Along with the cookbook here is a quick list of some items that would pair well with the book…

- Different size squeeze bottles for decorating and drizzling
- Cute cookie cutters (even a set of round/square cutters comes in handy)
- Little rubber spatulas
Make a fun gift bag or gift basket with a wide assortment of items for your favorite baker whether a child, or adult.

There is a wide range of recipes for beginner bakers of all ages. Some of the recipes include Mini Triple Chocolate Muffins, Sprinkle Cake Pops, White Chocolate Blondies, Roasted Strawberry Shortcakes, Little Chicken and Mushroom Biscuit Pot Pies, and much more!
Here are a few recipes I shared on Snappy Gourmet last year that you might enjoy (click on the title next to each number to go to the recipe)…
Mini Blueberry Peach Crostatas, an easy free-form rustic Italian pie recipe. A great way to practice with pie dough before attempting a full pie.
Soft Pretzel Sticks, delicious homemade pretzels. A bit more advanced but a great recipe to try for kids or adults who like a bit of a challenge.
Fluffy Buttermilk Chive Biscuits, an easy homemade biscuit recipe that is not only easy to make, but delicious! Perfect for dinner, holidays, entertaining, or just whenever you are craving biscuits!
Lemon Loaf Cake, a great option for baking beginners. Bake the cake in a loaf pan and spoon a delicious glaze on top and you have a beautiful dessert.
No cupcake pan or liners needed for these fun Blueberry Muffin Tops and Cheesecake Drizzle. The tops are the best parts anyhow, right?
Looking for more specific ideas what to include in a gift basket mentioned above? I have some great lists of items on Amazon (check out Amazon – Snappy Gourmet Shop). Here are some ideas from Amazon of what would go well with Kid Chef Bakes if you want to put a gift together…
Would love to hear if you enjoyed the book and what you made out of it! Leave me some comments below.
Kid Chef Bakes Edits:
A few typos have been found in the book since publishing. Sorry for the inconvenience.
- Upside-Down Apple Cupcakes – directions should read “Beat in egg, then vanilla.”
- Cinnamon Nut Coffee Cake – under “assemble the cake” directions should read “Sprinkle all of nut filling over batter,…”.
