Mexican Chocolate Shots, an easy Mexican recipe for Cinco de Mayo or anytime that has chocolate liqueur, amaretto, and pinnacle vodka. Like a fun Mexican Candy Shot, delicious!
Mexican Chocolate Shots, a fun and easy cocktail recipe! Just got home from a family trip to Hershey Park and I think I still have chocolate on the brain today! We also had some great Mexican food on our trip which makes me sad that our Mexican options around here are slim…very very slim. Since Cinco de Mayo is coming up I guess that means I’ll have to make my own Mexican food and cocktails! To start, how about a Mexican Chocolate Shot?! These definitely taste decadent, but when I calculated the calories they only have about 100 calories per shot!
Part of the inspiration behind these shots was Pinnacle’s Atomic Hots Vodka which has a spicy cinnamon candy taste. Can’t wait to use it for some other cocktails and recipes! I knew it would pair perfectly with some Disaronno Amaretto and Godiva’s Chocolate liqueur that I had in the cupboard for a Mexican chocolate type flavor. I topped these shots with a little chocolate whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon.
You can never have too many chocolate shots right? Like this Chocolate Cake Shot.
These shots were great and would also make a great cocktail or “-tini”! Just double the ingredients and maybe add a little milk (or cream or half-and-half) and you have yourself a great cocktail! When I added the calories up for the shots, they’re about 100 calories per shot which was ALOT better than I would have thought for as decadent as they taste, like a Mexican candy shot.
Calories of course will vary depending on the specific brands, ingredients, and quantities you use. If you like Mexican chocolate type recipes or looking for more cocktail ideas, check out my RECIPE INDEX for more. Or learn how to make fried ice cream for a fun Mexican inspired dessert.
