Bacon & Apples Foster Recipe | snappygourmet.comBacon & Apples Foster recipe for you today! I think you’re going to love this quick and easy dessert recipe that is a twist on the popular New Orleans dessert Bananas Foster! This Bacon & Apples Foster dessert is similar to Bananas Foster, but with apples and Jones Dairy Farm bacon! You may think I’m crazy adding bacon to this ice cream dessert, but trust me, you will want seconds and maybe even thirds!

Bacon & Apples Foster Recipe | snappygourmet.comBananas Foster has always been one of  my favorite desserts. I thought it would be fun twist using apples, rum, and BACON! Hard not to like bacon, isn’t it? If you haven’t tried bacon in dessert recipes, I strongly recommend trying it. The bacon adds a salty flavor and crispy texture to desserts and the perfect addition to the apples and ice cream in these Bacon & Apples Foster desserts.

Bacon & Apples Foster Recipe | snappygourmet.comReady to start this Bacon & Apples Foster dessert? Start with some Jones Dairy Farm bacon. I cut the bacon slices in half so that they would fit better in my pan. Cook the bacon a few minutes per side or until crispy. Remove, and chop.

Bacon & Apples Foster Recipe | snappygourmet.comWhile the bacon is cooking, peel, core, and slice your apples. You can use your favorite baking apple.

Bacon & Apples Foster Recipe | snappygourmet.comReserve a little bit of the bacon grease in the pan, then drain the rest. Add the butter and apples to the pan. Cook the apples until they begin to soften then add the brown sugar, maple syrup, rum, cider, and cinnamon. Simmer until apples are soft.

Bacon & Apples Foster Recipe | snappygourmet.comLet the apples cool a bit, then serve with vanilla ice cream and chopped bacon. Lots of chopped bacon. :)
