Just to show you how easy it is to come up with a quick and fun ribs recipe, I made these delicious Tropical Pineapple & Honey BBQ Ribs with only 6 ingredients!!!  To start off I rubbed some McCormick Perfect Pinch Caribbean Jerk Seasoning on both sides of my ribs. Instead of buying a long list of spices and ingredients you can get it all in this one little bottle!  Cover and refrigerate your ribs for at least an hour or overnight if you can.

Tropical Pineapple & Honey BBQ Ribs

While the ribs are in the fridge, make this quick and easy sauce.  It only has 3 ingredients: Kraft Honey Barbecue Sauce, some chopped pineapple, and lime juice.  No need to make a sauce with a long list of ingredients! Put everything in a blender (or food processor) and process until smooth.  Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Tropical Pineapple & Honey BBQ Ribs

I grilled my ribs on indirect heat for about an hour and a half.  My grill wasn’t quite big enough for actual”indirect” heat so I put my grill on very low, covered the grates with aluminum foil to help keep the heat down, then put my ribs on the top rack in my grill.  If your ribs drip a lot from the top shelf, you can put some disposable aluminum pans filled with water underneath to catch some of the drippings.  It worked great!  Then I basted my ribs with the sauce for another 15-30 minutes turning frequently.

Tropical Pineapple & Honey BBQ Ribs

You could also bake the ribs in the oven or prepare the way you like your ribs.  Let your ribs rest a little while so they turn out tender and juicy!  I garnished my ribs with some chopped fresh cilantro and served them with the remaining BBQ sauce and a few lime wedges.  My family gobbled these up!!!

Total time:
Serves: 4-6
Sweet and spicy ribs with pineapple, honey, and Caribbean seasoning.
Ingredients
  • 1 (4-6 lbs.) rack of pork spareribs
  • 3 tablespoons McCormick Perfect Pinch Caribbean Jerk Seasoning
  • 1 cup Kraft Honey Barbecue Sauce
  • 1¼ cup chopped pineapple
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • ½ cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
  1. Place the ribs on large plate or baking sheet. Rub Caribbean Jerk Seasoning on both sides. Cover and refrigerate one hour or overnight.
  2. Place barbecue sauce, pineapple, and lime juice into blender; blend until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  3. Preheat grill for indirect cooking. Grill ribs over indirect heat for about 1 to 1½ hours. Brush barbecue sauce on both sides of pork and cook another 15 to 30 minutes basting and turning often.
  4. Remove pork from grill and let rest about 15 minutes. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with any remaining barbecue sauce.
Notes
SNAPPY TIPS: Cook pork until internal temperature is about 160 degrees F. The Caribbean Jerk Seasoning is a little spicy so adjust for personal taste. SNAPPY SUBSTITUTIONS: Instead of lime juice you could substitute orange juice. I love “jerk style” ribs and those look really, really good. I haven’t tried to do ribs on the gas grill, so I will have to give your method a try.

I like my ribs plain and simple. I generally make 3 sauces (sweet, spicy, nonspicy) so people can choose the one they want

I like my ribs baked first in foil for about an hour until tender. Then, put them on the grill. I like to smear on lots of sauce, a little sweet and not too hot. Your recipe sounds delicious, Lisa!

I love my ribs a little heat and some sweet. I am still trying to figure out the perfect recipe. I normally use a cheaper cut of meat though: Country style ribs. I cook them for a few hours on the stove with an onion and finish them on the grill with a BBQ sauce that I add some brown sugar, cayenne, chili powder, garlic powder, and cumin. Thanks for the chance to enter.

I love my ribs sweet and spicy. I usually marinate them with dry rub and brush on some BBQ sauce during grilling. But I don’t like a thick sauce on mine though. :)
Your recipes sounds wonderful. I gotta give this a try soon.

I’ve tried a lot of different types of BBQ sauce but why does it seem (at least to me) that open pit is the best? the cheapest is the best? However if it’s thick & juicy that is a plus. I need to cook better.

we raise pigs so eat a lot of ribs – I think overall the favorite around here is Bbq’d with lots of homemade barbecue sauce & grilled corn on the cob! But we’re always trying new ways & will be trying this recipe!

I like my ribs sweet and a little bit spicy. We use a dry rub before grilling, and baste with with BBQ sauce a short while before they are done. Trader Joe’s Kansas City BBQ sauce is our favorite.

We make up our own dry rub and then smoke our ribs “low and slow” with hickory. The key is to put the dry rub on the night before and then wrap the ribs in plastic wrap and put them in the fridge.

I love the look of those ribs! I like ribs that just fall off the bone, with a little bit of a kick but not overloaded with sauce (my dad makes some amazing ribs, might have to follow him with a camera & a notepad while he does it next time)
