Today’s post, for this homemade Peach White Wine Sangria Slushie, is to honor all the great dads out there! But who am I kidding, they’re also great for all the moms because we all know that a happy mom equals a happy dad! haha!
Love this easy frozen cocktail, especially on hot summer nights! This is basically a white wine sangria, but in frozen form. Perfect for sweet white wines.
These Peach White Wine Sangria Slushies are so easy to make. The only tough part is making sure you have all the ingredients in hand.
If you have all the ingredients, or once you get the ingredients, these wine slushies only take a few minutes to prep.
How to Make Peach White Wine Sangria Slushies:
These wine slushies literally only take a few minutes to make.
Start with some cold white sweet wine such as a Riesling or your favorite and add it to a blender. Add the orange liqueur, peach liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, and honey to the blender.
I recommend fresh orange juice and lime juice for best results, but if you’re a hurry and need to use bottled, that’s fine too.
Add the frozen peaches to the blender. Make sure the peaches are FROZEN or this won’t be a slushie, haha! I do not recommend fresh peaches, unless you want to slice them and freeze them beforehand.
Turn your blender in, and blend until smooth. Scrape down the sides and continue blending if needed.
Pour into glasses. I like to use mason jars, but you can use whatever you have. Add some garnish like some fresh lime and/or orange slices and top with a fun paper straw.
Drink right away so your slushie doesn’t melt!
Peach Season:
As I mentioned, you need to use frozen peaches for this drink. You can either buy them frozen or make your own frozen peaches.
If you’re going to use fresh peaches and freeze them yourself, make sure you use fresh ripe sweet peaches. Peaches can generally be bought year round.
In the United States, peach season is generally late summer in the north, and earlier in the south with peak season usually June through August. Peach season can start early to mid May, and as late as September or October depending on the weather and location.
Freezing Peaches:
If you’d like to freeze your own peaches for this drink or other recipes, be sure to start with fresh ripe sweet peaches but be sure they’re not too soft or mushy. The peaches will not continue to ripen once frozen.
I like to peel them first, but you don’t have to. To peel, you can use a good quality fruit or vegetable peeler.
OR for better results, score an X on the bottom of each peach with a sharp knife.
Drop the peaches into boiling water for about 30-60 seconds, then place them in a bowl with ice water. When cool enough to handle you should be able to peel the peaches with your fingers.
Cut the peaches in half, remove the pits, and slice (or chop) the peaches. Place the peach slices on a silicone mat lined baking sheet in a single layer. Freeze for a few hours or overnight until solid. Then place in sealable bags and store in the freezer until ready to use.
